 Monterosso al Mare is an ancient sea
village,it was probably founded by the
survivors from Albareto(destroyed in the 7th
C. by the Longobardi from Rothary)who united
around the Soviore Snctuary and then moved
towards the sea in the 11th C.It's the first
village of "Cinque Terre" if you come from
Levanto.
It is the best equiped village for tourists
in the whole "Cinque Terrre" the hotels and
guest houses offer warm and friendly
hospitality. Has many restaurants offer
typical dishes and many american bar,pub
where you can hear good music and drink
cocktails on the week end beach- party with
music.
 Monterosso al mare it's divide of two little
"village"connected with a nice and little
tunnel: "Fegina "the new,and the "old
village" has preserved the medieval
character as well as it's unique
architeture.Sandy beaches are typical of the
whole town's coast.The one we care a point
out Fegina's sandy beach,upon the imposing "Gigante"
(the giant) stands:a wonderful statue
sculptured out of the rock.

church,the genovese Castle and the
