Bonassola
has a gulf between evocative cliff of "
Punta del Carlino" and the rochy promontory
of "Madonnina della Punta",outlined by a
marvellous sea of blue trasparency where the
sighing breezes are sweet-scented by only
Ligurian flowers and trees.
The singular salubrity of the air in this
village,examined by European men of
science,is due to resinous richness of the
pines,to the ozonized atmosphere,and to the
very small particles of iodine coming from a
very pure sea.
It's climate is recommended all the year
long,to people,suffering from heart and
breathing organs troubles,or affected with
digestive tract diseas,or nervous troubles.
The
beach it's the biggest of the Riviera di
Levante,it's a mix of sand and little
stone,there are bathing establishment and
free beaches who you can to eat,drink , hear
and dancing good music in the night-life .
There are very numerous possibilities of
excursions by sea : every creek has an
extraordinary beauty,there are many little
silent shores as like " Gulf of
Red Rock" vulcanic 's stone.
It's between "Cinque Terre" (7 minutes by
train) and Portofino (45 minutes by train).
History: It goes back probably to
the Longobardi Era.It was once ruled by
Luni's Episcopate,but then passed under
various dominations,like the Da
Passano,and the Republic of Genova in
1200 which fortified by building a
Castle which now you can still be partly
seen.The village still has the same
characteristic as years and ago;
Bonassola looks upon a beautiful small
gulf and has a wide beach.
Things to see : The remains of
the Castle,S.caterina's church,the
Madonna della Punta Chapel,high on a
rocky hillside along the sea from where
Framura can be seen ,the rural village
with a solid structure of Montaretto,in
this place organize many village feast
